The July 1, 2026 Judicial College Municipal Court manual reproduces section 63-9-11(2): where no other penalty is provided, a first misdemeanor traffic conviction has a $100 fine or ten-day imprisonment maximum. A second within one year has a $200 or twenty-day maximum, or both; a third within one year after the first has a $500 or six-month maximum, or both. State assessments are separate, so a local payable total can exceed the base-fine maximum.
