The statutory fine and the payable amount.
NRS 484B.600(6) caps the ordinary speeding fine at $20 for each mph over; court assessments are separate. Section 484B.600(8) makes 30 mph over or more a misdemeanor. Local civil schedules can include assessments, and their final amounts are not the same as the statutory base-fine cap. The active-school-zone additional penalty is discretionary and can also double demerit points.

Nevada DMV currently assigns 2 points for ordinary 1–20 mph-over speeding, 4 for 21–40 and 5 for 41+. NRS 484B.370, added in the 2025 special session, doubles the ordinary points if an additional active-school-zone penalty is imposed. The school-zone result is withheld because the judicial enhancement is not known. A specially charged rural-area violation under NRS 484B.617 has separate recording rules.
Twelve points in 12 months causes a 6-month suspension. DMV sends a notice; a driver may request a hearing.
Demerit points expire 12 months after conviction. The conviction remains permanently on the driving record.

North Las Vegas Justice Court requires civil-infraction payment or an in-person contested-hearing request within 90 calendar days of issuance. Misdemeanor citations follow their assigned appearance date; confirm the issuing court. Missing a deadline can add consequences. Ask the court about extensions or payment help before it passes.
